ESA Underscores Need for Storage Policies in AZ Clean Energy Discussion
ESA will file comments today at the Arizona Corporation Commission in response a letter filed by Commission Chair Burns requesting party comments on several clean energy and renewable energy scenarios under consideration in the docket to revise the state’s energy rules. In our comments, ESA reiterates our previously filed comments calling for an energy storage pillar to support the clean energy standards being considered and provides support for several storage proposals including a Clean Peak Standard and distributed storage carve out and incentive programs. ESA continues to work with Staff and the Commission to finalizing draft energy regulations, and was pleased to see that the revised regulations recently submitted by Staff adopt many of the recommended amendments to the proposed clean peak standard, storage incentives, and storage target that ESA has advocated in comments (here).
