ESA Calls on Arizona Corporation Commission to Include Storage Target in Draft Energy Rules
ESA will file comments today at the Arizona Corporation Commission in response to proposed revisions to the Renewable Energy Standard and Tariff, as well as rules on resource planning and electric/gas energy efficiency. In our comments, ESA continues to call for the incorporation of a separate energy storage target, which would be incorporated into the integrated resource planning rules to provide utilities with a clear policy signal and ensure the storage deployment aligns with system needs. ESA also recommends several modifications to the “Clean Peak Goal” in the draft rules, including the addition of a baseline and a pathway for eligibility of standalone energy storage.
