SUMMARY:Storage 101: End Uses
DESCRIPTION:The great strength of energy storage is the multitude of applications it can serve on the electric power system. Not only can it serve as pure capacity\, but it can also ensure the quality of power on the grid\, make it more resilient\, and more. It also comes in many applications\, shapes\, and sizes – from a few kilowatts of lithium-ion batteries in a residential system mounted to a garage wall to several gigawatts of utility-scale pumped hydroelectric storage. But that makes how it’s treated by markets and planners more complicated. In this next installment of our Energy Storage 101 webinar series\, experts from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) will discuss the end-use applications for energy storage and the challenges and opportunities for valuing energy storage’s applications. \nEmail education@energystorage.org for more information. \n
