ESA calls for robust evaluation of benefits in New Jersey storage study
ESA will file comments today in response to a Notice requesting comments by the Board of Public Utilities in support of the New Jersey energy storage cost benefit study called for by the 2018 Clean Energy Act. Staff is seeking comments in support of regulatory analysis and policy recommendations in the report. In our comments, ESA outlines the potential benefits of energy storage in New Jersey and provides guidance on which benefits should be included in the analysis; describes the current regulatory and market barriers to the deployment of energy storage systems in New Jersey; and includes a framework that allows for all storage technologies of all durations and types to support New Jersey’s ambitious clean energy and climate goals.
